Matt and Jenna met a few years ago while both volunteering their time ministering in Pigeon Forge, TN at the Smokey Mountain Student Bible Conference. That weekend, one of the conference staff members, Randy, asked Jenna whether or not she “had her eye on anybody here?” to which Jenna simply laughed and politely said no. Randy replied, “Well I think Matt Hill has his eye on you!” Later that evening, Randy proposed the same question to Matt, who coincidently replied in the same manner as Jenna, “no.” And yes, you guessed it, Randy told Matt that he “heard that Jenna Maners girl had her eye on Matt.” Needless to say, neither Matt nor Jenna were looking for love that weekend, but Randy was determined to make sure that Love was looking for them. After Jenna and Matt both spent the weekend playing “hard-to-get” while assuming they were both being pursued by the other, they finally discovered they were being set up. The night they came home from Tennessee, Matt asked Jenna on their first date…


Before Matt met Jenna, he began praying that God would place someone in his life to help him in his ministry. You see, Matt is a youth pastor at a church in Corner, AL. He is a full-time student, as well as a full-time employee at a local warehouse. Since his position in the ministry is with a new church plant, Matt's position was completely volunteer. While Matt knew he was following God's plan for his life by going into the ministry, the stress and responsibility involved in it was more than Matt had bargained for. His largest burden was that he was having a hard time getting through to the females in his youth group. Matt knew God had a plan, but when He placed Jenna in his life, it was more than an answer to prayer… it was a partner for life.

Nearly two years have passed and Matt and Jenna are still falling for each other more and more each day. While the majority of their dates involve church events or youth retreats, they could not be happier. Jenna had the privilege of volunteering as an intern on the Rick and Bubba Show. Her intern nick-name, Church Lady, was rooted in her relationship with Matt and their involvement in their church. Throughout the duration of her internship, Matt was her biggest fan. Recently, Jenna finished up her time with the radio show and during her exit-interview, with 2.5 million people tuned in, Matt got down on one knee and asked Jenna to marry him. Jenna's immediate tearful response was “Did you ask my momma??” Of course Matt had, so Jenna was thrilled to say yes.
